The Olympic Games have given me the chance to travel the world and realize my dreams. After I won the Olympics in Torino, I chose to establish a charity foundation that would help Special Olympics athletes realize their dreams as well. I chose to support Special Olympics because I've been blessed to have all of the tools to do my best in whatever I chose to do in life, and I wanted Special Olympics athletes to have the same opportunity. Special Olympians have it all, they are skilled and committed to their sport in a manner that is truly inspiring. They have smiles on their faces 24/7, and just a few minutes with them made me realize that they see the joy in life and in sport, and it helped me approach life with a more positive attitude.  Since 2006, the Chad Hedrick Foundation 'GO FOR THE GOLD' charity golf tournament has raised over $200,000 to support Special Olympics of Texas.  Our 4th annual event will be held at Northgate Country Club on Monday April 12th, 2010 in Houston, Texas.
